AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (30-17) lost 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

Blubaugh started for Sugar Land and pitched well tossing 5 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts. The pen was solid until the 9th when Speas allowed 2 runs. In the bottom of the inning, they got a solo HR from Hummel but that would be it as Sugar Land fell 2-1.

Note: Blubaugh has a 3.16 ERA this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (14-27) lost 6-4 (BOX SCORE)

Ullola started for the Hooks and allowed 3 runs over 4.2 innings. The offense got on the board in the 4th on a Barber solo HR. They got another run in the 6th on a Ferreras solo HR. The Hooks tied the game in the 7th when Corona scored on a balk and then took the lead on a Melton RBI single in the 8th. Gomez gave up a run in the 9th as the Travelers tied it and then in the 10th, the Travelers scored 2 runs as they went on to win 6-4.

Note: Ferreras is hitting .348 in Double-A.


A+: Asheville Tourists (18-22) lost 7-2 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the first scoring 2 runs on a Williams solo HR and Cerny RBI single. True started for Asheville and allowed 4 runs over 4 innings of work. He was relieved by Hicks who went 4 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, while striking out 5. The offense got some traffic but were unable to score again as Asheville fell 7-2.

Note: Hicks has 46 K in 36 innings this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (20-21) won 8-4 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Nunez solo HR. In the 3rd, they picked up 2 runs on a Gomez 2 run single. The offense would add 5 more in the 4th with 2 coming on an error and a Carrillo 3 run HR. Pecko got the start and was great allowing 1 run over 5 innings while striking out 9. Nezuh allowed 3 runs in relief but the pen was able to hold on for the 8-4 win.

Note: Pecko has 38 K in 31.2 innings this season.
