Tonight’s game started out positive for the Astros as Yuli Gurriel put the Astros on the board early with an RBI single to make 1-0 in the top of the 1st. Framber Valdez seemed to be holding his own on the mound. Then Kyle Tucker announced his presence by launching a home run to centerfield to make it 2-0 in the top of the second. Things were going in the right direction.

Then the bottom of the inning happened and that's where the wheels started to fall off for the Astros. Valdez gave up a double to Will Meyers, hit Adam Frazier and Manny Machado. and things only got worse from there for Valdez, allowing 4 runs over 6 hits.
Cristian Javier couldn’t do much better as he gave up 4 more runs, giving up two two run home runs to Manny Machado and Wil Myers to make it 8-2 in the bottom of 7th.
Josh James tried to stop the bleeding, but only added insult to injury to as he gave up a mammoth two run blast to Fernando Tatis in the bottom of the 8th to make it 10-2.
Speaking of injury, Yordan Alvarez injured his left knee in the fifth inning after fouling off a pitch off his knee from Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove. He is listed as day to day according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle.
Yordan Alvarez's X-rays were negative, Dusty Baker said. He does not think it's an IL situation. Baker said the Astros "dodged a major bullet because it looked terrible."
