Brantley's 3 hits and 2 RBI key in win.

MLB: Houston Astros at Texas Rangers Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The Astros looked destined for humiliation by yet another AL bottom feeder, going into the seventh inning down 4-0.

But one big inning, a five run seventh , was all the Astros needed for the win.

It started with a no out, two-run, bases loaded double by rookie Jake Meyers. ( Him again).

Michael Brantley tied the score with a two run single. Yuli Gurriel put the Astros ahead with a run scoring ground out. He was almost doubled up, but replay showed he was safe at first.

Astros starter Jake Odorizzi was decent, going five innings, allowing two runs on six hits in five innings, the big blow an Andy Ibanez homer in the fifth.

Ryan Pressly earned the save after allowing two singles

The Rangers have to be happy with their starter, Glen Otto, who made his MLB debut with the Rangers after being traded by the Yankees, going five scoreless innings.

The Astros and Mall Cops go again Saturday at 6:05. Framber Valdez occupies the mound for the Stros.
