Astros Prospect Report: August 17th

Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (49-40) won 5-1 (BOX SCORE)

Solomon started for the Skeeters and pitched really well again striking out 8 over 6 innings while allowing just 1 run. Siri put the Skeeters on the board with an RBI triple in the 2nd and Papierski followed that up with an RBI groundout. The offense extended the lead in the 6th scoring 3 runs on a Matijevic RBI double and Papierski 2 run single. The bullpen was solid with Paredes, Ferrell and Blanco all tossing scoreless outings to close it.

Note: Solomon has a 3.43 ERA over his last 7 outings.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (42-49) lost 5-1 (BOX SCORE)

Endersby started for the Hooks and went 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs while striking out 4. The Hooks’ only run came on a bases loaded walk to Arias in the 4th. The Missions got 2 runs off of Horrell and the offense was quiet the rest of they night as they fell 5-1.

De Paula started and was pulled after 1 batter. He was relieved by Holcomb who went 3 scoreless and then Season who struck out 7 over 4 scoreless innings. Berryhill put the Tourists on the board in the 4th with a solo HR. The offense got 2 more in the 8th on a Whitcomb RBI single and Stubbs RBI double. Santana added a solo HR in the 9th. Casey closed it out allowing 1 run over the final 2 innings.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (40-50) won 8-1 (BOX SCORE)

Santos got the start and pitched really well striking out 8 over 4.2 innings while allowing just 1 run. The offense got on the board in the 3rd getting 2 runs on a Brewer RBI triple and Hamilton sac fly. In the 6th they picked up 4 runs on a Perry RBI double, Rodriguez RBI single, Mascai RBI single and a run scoring on a wild pitch. The offense added some insurance in the 7th with RBI singles from Rodriguez and Kato. Garcia closed it out tossing 4.1 scoreless innings.

Note: Santos has a 3.15 ERA with 41 K in 34.1 IP this season.
