You probably heard the news. The lights-out bullpen specialist that crushed the hopes of the Astros comeback last night IS AN ASTRO NOW.
Kendall Graveman was traded for Abraham Toro along with Joe Smith. The Astros also got pitcher Rafael Montero. Basically in Smith and Montero each team traded away a problem, although we can always hope the Strom magic can rejuvenate Montero.
Abraham Toro will help the Mariners, or someone, for years, but the Astros got the bullpen help they sorely needed now.
Hopefully, with the return of Pedro Baez, the Astros will have the answer to the seventh eighth, and ninth inning bullpen needs that they didn’t have in last night’s fiasco.
