From the onset, it looked like Framber Valdez was going to have a long night as he walked the four of the first seven batters he faced and might get pulled quickly. However, he recovered and went 6 innings without a giving up a hit.

Bryan Abreu came into relieve Valdez and did his job of leaving the Texas Rangers hitless, leaving it to Ryne Stanek to keep the no hit momentum going. However, it was not meant to be as Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a single towards a diving Kyle Tucker and Myles Straw. which Kyle Tucker missed, ending the combined no-hit bid.

As far the Astros offense goes, it all started with a bases loaded walked in the first with Carlos Correa at the plate, scoring Jose Altuve. Then Yordan Alvarez scored Michael Brantley on a sacrifice fly in the 3rd, followed by another sacrifice fly in the 4th by Carlos Correa scoring Yuli Gurriel. The real fireworks came with a Yordan Alvarez bomb in the seventh.

Tomorrow’s matchup on the mound will be Taylor Hearn (2-3, 4.70 ERA) for the Rangers vs. Zack Greinke (9-3, 3.58 ERA) for the Astros at 1:10 p.m. CT on ATT SportsNet SW.
