AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (26-21) OFF


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (22-26)

Endersby started for the Hooks and tossed 5 scoreless innings, though he did walk 5. The Hooks got on the board in the 5th on a Costes RBI single. DeJuneas kept the shut out going tossing 3 scoreless in relief of Endersby. In the 9th inning, the Hooks added a couple insurance runs on RBI singles from Manea and Costes and a run on an error to go up 4-0. Conn closed it out with a perfect 9th to seal the win.

Note: Costes is hitting .331 this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (22-27) lost 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

Freure started for the Tourists and allowed 5 runs in 4 innings. Asheville got 2 in the 2nd on a Salazar RBI double and Machado RBI groundout. In the 4th, Stubbs added a solo HR. The bullpen was solid with Melendez tossing 2.1 scoreless and Sprinkle striking out 4 over 1.2 scoreless innings but the offense was quiet the rest of the night and was unable to come back.

Note: Sprinkle has 31 K in 16.1 innings this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (18-29)

Game 1 - win 9-3 (BOX SCORE)

Barry started game 1 and went 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Ramirez put the Woodpeckers on the board in the 2nd inning with an RBI single. Brewer connected on a solo HR in the 3rd inning. In the 4th, the Woodpeckers blew it open scoring 3 runs on a Ramirez RBI single and a Martinez 2 run HR. Dirden added a 2 run HR in the 5th to extend the lead. In the 7th, Berryhill added some insurance with 2 run HR in the 7th. Jaquez closed it out allowing 1 run over 2 innings.

Note: Brewer is hitting .271 this season.

Game 2 - won 12-9 (BOX SCORE)

Plumlee started game 2 but struggled allowing 4 runs in 1.2 innings. The offense scored early and often getting 2 runs in the first on a Rodriguez RBI double and Daniels RBI single. In the 2nd they picked up 3 more runs on a Correa 2 run HR and Mendoza RBI single. The offense tacked on 2 more in the 3rd on a Perry sac fly and a 2 run single by Urdaneta. The bullpen struggled with Holcomb and Betances allowing multiple runs each. The game was tied at 9 in the 6th but the Woodpeckers scored 2 runs on an error and Correa added an RBI single to go up 12-0. Garcia closed it out with a scoreless 7th.
