The Astros go for their ninth straight behind Mr. Eephus

The Astros are bashing at a historic rate. The wRC+ is 125. That’s 25% above league average. The next closest team is the Dodgers at 112. The all-time high is the 1927 Yankees at 126.

Yeah, Ruth, Gehrig.

And the Yankees didn’t have Martin Maldonado or Myles Straw in the lineup.

And it keeps going up. Even without Alex Bregman. Kyle Tucker, or Aledmys Diaz in the lineup being replaced by guys named Chas and Toro.

Tonight they take Carlos Correa out of the lineup. Can the hot streak continue? Will the Astros make it nine straight?

It is the Orioles, and Zack Greinke is on the mound.
