Tonight the Astros were in St. Petersburg to take on the Tampa Bay Rays as they looked to avenge a tough 1-0 loss from Thursday.
The bats wasted no time getting going as they put up a run in the first on 3 singles including an RBI single from Correa.
In the 3rd inning, Alex Bregman crushed a 2 run HR to left field to extend the lead to 3-0.

Just a couple batters later, Diaz grounded out and Alvarez scored to make it 4-0. In the 4th the Astros got a triple from Martin Maldonado (!!!) and he eventually scored on a Brantley RBI single extending the lead to 5-0. The Astros would add another in the 7th on a Diaz RBI single.
Lance McCullers was the starter tonight and he was straight cooking. He was in control the entire game going 7 scoreless innings while striking out 9. He lowered his season ERA to 3.38 and has allowed just 14 hits in 26.2 innings this season.
After a scoreless 8th inning from Kent Emanuel, the Astros put on some more insurance runs on a 2 run double from Diaz in the 9th. He finished the game with 4 RBI. Straw would follow with a sac fly to make it 9-0.
Andre Scrubb got the 9th and allowed a couple runs, but the Astros still came away with a convincing win.
