Cristian Javier, in his last two starts, has a 10-inning shutout streak going. Maybe tonight he can extend it to 19.
Some good news. Framber Valdez is ahead of schedule in his rehab and is beginning to throw to hitters. Here’s what Brent Strom had to say, “He is way ahead of schedule. Anybody who’s been around Framber [knows] he is very resilient, a strong young man who has a high threshold of pain and really wants to get back here desperately. So much to the point, he’s trying to press this faster than our medical field really wants him to.”
Slow and easy Framber. Don’t do a Javier Baez or Jake Odorizzi and rush things.
Here’s the lineups.
