The Astros started the season with white-hot hitting and four straight wins against their AL West rival, the Oakland A’s. Since then they have gone 2-3 against the Angels and the A’s.
Meanwhile, the re-building Tigers have started the season 3-6.
It’s old-school against the new wave on the mound. Seemingly timeless Zack Greinke, he of the 88 MPH fastball, is starting the season like the master he is, sporting a 1.38 ERA in 13 IP and a 0.69 WHIP.
The Tigers counter with 2018’s #1 overall draft pick, Casey Mize from Auburn. He has thrown four innings this year, allowing one run, while struggling with a 1.75 WHIP.
Here’s the lineups. The Astros are going full-strength today.
