The Astros match the Cards with their strongest lineup of the Spring

MLB: Houston Astros at Texas Rangers Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

After losing ace Framber Valdez to injury, the Astros management acted expeditiously to fill the void, signing Jake Odorizzi to a two year contract with a third year option yesterday.

Meanwhile the Stros lost to the Mets 6-1 in a rain shortened Spring Training game yesterday, following a well worn pattern this Spring, getting only three hits.

Today, if the pattern continues, the Astros will have no excuse, as they are running with as close to their starting lineup as they can, all regular season starters except the injured Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez.

Here’s the lineup. Is Myles Straw really going to be lead-off this year?

Myles Straw..................CF

Jose Altuve...................2B

Michael Brantley...........LF

Carlos Correa..............SS

Kye Tucker....................RF

Yuli Gurriel....................1B

Garret Stubbs...............C

Abraham Toro..............3B

Martin Maldonado.......DH

The game is broadcast live on KBME 790 AM and 94.5 FM HD-2

It is also televised on MLBN (delayed)
