If the Astros would spend half as much time prepping, planning, analyzing, and in game adjustments, on their hitting as they do with their bullpen strategy, we would be so much better and well rounded.
With their bullpen, you see so much strategy of putting in a relief pitcher who may not be the top choice, in the middle of the inning, and lefty - righty etc. However the same does not occur with our Batting game planning.
Lack of Governance, Analysis and Knowledge Sharing.
Altuve was in a "slump" so after WSGM1, he gets advise to spend batting practice time, hitting all pitches up the middle and to the opposite field as it was noticed he kept swinging too early. Low and behold he breaks his slump and hits a double and HR. However this was a one off occurrence and this needs to happen to all players EVERY game.
Not only that, but playing in NL park, DH goes away, so choosing the right PH has to have the same focus as we do our bullpen relief strategy.
Braves are better at home. We need to up our game.
