Tonight, the Astros looked to bounce back after being shutout last night. They faced off against former Astros, Jordan Lyles.
The Astros got on the board in the second inning when Kyle Tucker connected on a 2 run HR, his 9th of the season, to give the Astros an early 2-0 lead.

Framber Valdez got the start for the Astros and was dominant. His first 6 innings he allowed no runs and just 3 hits while striking out 10. He came out for the 7th and struck out Odor to start the inning before allowing a double and being pulled for Josh James. James struck out the first batter but then allowed a single as the Rangers got on the board, and the run was charged to Valdez.
Valdez’s final line was 6.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 11 K
James came back out for the 8th and tossed a scoreless inning as he struck out 3 over 1.2 innings. A nice outing for him and hopefully a sign moving forward. The Astros offense couldn’t get anything else going and that left them with a 2-1 lead heading into the 9th.
Brooks Raley got the 9th and tossed a 1-2-3 inning as he picked up the save and secured the 2-1 win.
