The TCB Starting Nine’s Astros All-Time bWAR Champion Team

The sim games begin tomorrow

MLB: Spring Training-Minnesota Twins at Houston Astros Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

You’ve seen the rosters. You’ve read the bluster. You’ve heard Blummer’s rant. You’ve chosen your own favorite. Yeah, the Hammer talks a good game, and y’all voted that his team is the best of the five best Astros All-Time teams.

We will have a simulated double elimination tournament with the first game tonight between Cody and bilbos. But before the tournament, we promised to announce the winner by bWAR according to the criteria established at the beginning of our draft. That criteria was: we would add the average bWAR of all 15 players on each team and the team with the greatest total bWAR would win the WAR phase of the contest.

The average WAR for each player would be the average of his five best continuous years with the Astros. If a player did not play five years with the Astros his career average with the Astros would be counted instead. He must have played two seasons with the Astros and two seasons with the Astros at the position he has been assigned.

The Winner Is:

BILBOS

Here were the scores.

Bilbos: 51.9

Mhatter: 50.7

Theo: 47.3

Cody: 45.6

Hebrew Hammah: 42

Here are the players on each team with their respective WAR averages.
