The Astros exploded last night, scoring 11 runs, the kids coming through again. One unexpected benefit of the injuries to so many of our star players is that it has given Myles Straw and Derek Fisher a chance to prove what they are worth. They may end up traded, but the Astros are now in a better position to get fair value now that they have shown the league what they can do.
Brad Peacock (5-2, 3.17 ERA takes on Mike Leake (4-6, 4.71 ERA). The Astros go for the series win tonight and hope to head home after tomorrow’s afternoon game with a sweep. The Stros currently hold a five game winning streak, all five played on this road trip.
Lineup and media access information below. Myles Straw gets a look at shortstop today. My, my. Seems like that speed belongs in center field. But versatility is a good thing.
