Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (42-30) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Urquidy got the start and pitched well allowing 2 runs over 6 innings with 7 strikeouts. Ritchie put the Express on the board with a solo HR in the 6th. In the 7th, Tanielu connected on a 2 run HR to put them ahead 3-2. Unfortunately the bullpen couldn’t hold it as the Cubs scored 1 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th to win it.

Note: Tanielu is hitting .409 with 6 HR, 25 RBI in June.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (34-38) won 10-2 (BOX SCORE)

Javier continued his dominance in AA striking out 10 over 5 scoreless innings last night. The Hooks got on the board early on a Beer 2 run HR. In the 3rd they got 3 more runs on a Sierra, Springer, and Beer solo HRs. Springer added a 3 run HR in the 4th and Dawson followed with a solo HR of his own. Beer capped off his big day with an RBI single in the 6th. DeJuneas allowed 2 runs in relief but the offense did more than enough in the 10-2 win.

Note: Javier has 83 K in 63 innings with a 1.71 ERA this season.


A+: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (32-38) won 10-3 (BOX SCORE)

Garcia started and went 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, with 8 strikeouts. Papierski got the scoring started with a solo HR in the first inning. In the 3rd they picked up 2 more runs on a Meyers RBI double and Adams sac fly. Papierski added a 2 run single in the 4th to make it 5-0 at the time. The offense broke it open in the 5th scoring 5 runs on a Sierra RBI walk and Meyers grand slam. Billingsley and Duncan closed it out with scoreless outings.

Note: Garcia has 80 K in 56.1 innings this season.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (44-23) won 7-2 (BOX SCORE)

Deason started for the River Bandits and pitched well allowing just 1 run in 6 innings of work. Machado got the scoring started with an RBI double in the 2nd inning. In the 3rd, they got 2 more runs on an Adolph RBI double and Campos RBI groundout. Adolph added to his day with a solo HR in the 5th. Hensley followed that up with a 2 run HR in the 6th. The bullpen allowed just 1 run over the final 3 innings as they secured the win.

Note: Adolph is hitting .377 in 15 games in June.


A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (2-4) won 10-7 (BOX SCORE)

Note: Lee is hitting .308 with 4 BB/1 SO in 4 games this season.
