The Astros are 15-3 in their last 18 games. Remember that as I explain what happened to the Stros last night. They suffered four double plays, a triple play, a rare Gerrit Cole meltdown. Meanwhile, the White Sox had four home runs, including a grand slam by a youngster for whom it was his first ever homer.
It’s baseball. Stuff happens. Don’t think the Astros didn’t benefit from a few breaks during their winning streaks as well.
Must say, the Astros miss Jose Altuve. And they miss George Springer. But when they are both out at the same time, it feels exponentially worse. They are 2-2 since Springer’s injury seriously manifested in the Boston series, and team run production has seriously declined without his MVP-like run creation.
Chicago ace Lucas Giolitto faces Astros rookie Corbin Martin in his third Major League start. Will he be the Martin we saw against Texas, or the not-so-in -command Martin we saw against Boston? Stay tuned
