Astros Prospect Report: April 27th, 2019

Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (13-9) won 11-7 (BOX SCORE)

The Express wasted no time getting the bats going in this one scoring 4 runs in the first on an Alvarez RBI double and a Tucker 3 run HR. Rodgers got the start and had his roughest outing of the season allowing 4 runs in 5 innings. In the 5th, Jones gave the Express a 5-4 lead with an RBI single. Baby Cakes took the lead in the 7th scoring 3 runs but the Express would strike back. In the bottom of the 7th, they scored 4 runs on an error, a 2 run HR from Alvarez, and another run scoring on a wild pitch. They got some insurance in the 8th with a Jones RBI single and Tanielu RBI double. Emanuel and Guduan had scoreless outings in relief to close it out.

Note:Alvarez is hitting .375 with 5 HR, 17 RBI over his last 10 games.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (12-11) won 10-9 (BOX SCORE)

LaRue started last night and struggled a little bit allowing 4 runs in 4.1 innings. The Hooks responded well though getting two solo HRs in the 2nd inning from Goetzman and Quintana. In the 3rd they put up 3 runs on a Toro RBI single and McCormick 2 run single. Quintana would add another solo HR in the 4th. Valdez relieved LaRue and allowed 3 runs in his 3.2 innings of work. The Hooks entered the 8th down 7-6 but Goetzman connected on a 2 out grand slam to give them a 10-6 lead. The Drillers made it interesting scoring 2 in the 9th but the Hooks were able to hold on for the win.

Note:Goetzman is hitting .364 with 5 HR, 12 RBI over his last 10 games.


A+: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (13-10) lost 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Mushinski started for the Woodpeckers and pitched well striking out 8 over 5 innings while allowing 2 unearned runs. They got on the board in the fielder’s choice in the first and another on a Julks RBI single in the 6th. Bravo was good in relief but allowed a run to the Wood Ducks in the 9th as they won in a walk-off.

Note:Mushinski has 5 BB/30 K in 19.1 innings this season.
