Another day of minor league action in the books. See the results below.

AAA: Round Rock Express (9-5) won 8-2 (BOX SCORE)

The Express wasted no time putting up runs in this one. In the first inning they scored 6 runs on a Mayfield RBI double, Alvarez RBI single, Tanielu 2 run single and Jones 2 run HR. Bostick got the start and went 3 innings allowing 2 runs while striking out 5. He was relieved by Hartman who was very good in relief tossing 5 scoreless innings. The Express added another run in the second on a Mayfield sac fly and one more in the 8th on another Alvarez RBI single. Valdez closed it out striking out 2 over a perfect 9th.

Note:Mayfield is hitting .395 in 12 games this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (7-7) won 8-0 (BOX SCORE)

Another good offensive night for the Hooks. Dawson got things started connecting on a leadoff HR, his 3rd of the season. In the 3rd, Duarte added a solo HR, his 2nd of the season. Bailey got the start and tossed 4 scoreless innings. In the 5th the Hooks scored another on a Toro RBI groundout. They picked up 2 more in the 6th with 2 runs scoring on an error. Robinson added an RBI double in the 7th and Toro added a 2 run HR in the 8th for the 7th and 8th run. Ivey relieved Bailey and dominated tossing 5 scoreless innings while having 0 BB/8 K.

Note:Ivey has 3 BB/16 K in 11 innings this season.


A+: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (8-6) lost 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

The game was scoreless through the first 4 innings before the Woodpeckers picked up 3 runs in the top of the 5th on an Arauz 2 run HR and Sierra solo HR. Ramirez started and went 4.1 innings allowing 2 runs, which both came in the 5th. He was relieved by France who also allowed 2 runs in the 5th. The Woodpeckers tied the game at 4 in the 8th on a De La Cruz solo HR, but the Mudcate retook the lead in the bottom of the 8th and eventually won it 5-4.

Note: De La Cruz is hitting .390 with .683 SLG (8 XBH) in 10 games this season.
