In 2017 it was the bats that made the Astros champions, but in 2018 the arms were preeminent in the Astros’ success. This year the balance was supposed to shift back to the bats.
But in Tampa this weekend the Astros held the Rays to less than three earned runs in all four games, and yet the Stros lost three out of four, as the bats went nearly silent in the last three games.
That kind of stuff happens in a 162 game season, but the Astros hope to get the bats booming again in Arlington. But just in case they don’t Brad Peacock takes the mound for his first start of the year, dueling Drew Smylie in his Rangers debut.
