The Astros beat the Mets 8-7 yesterday, Justin Verlander going 3 innings and allowed one run on a homer. Alex Bregman got his first action of the Spring, but drew a walk and a hit by pitch, and didn’t make any throws to test his repaired right elbow.
Forrest Whitley threw three innings, allowing three hits, a walk and two strikeouts. He gave up five runs, four on a grand slam, but only one run was earned, thanks to an egregious error at second base by Joshua Rojas on what would have been the third out of the inning.
This game is not televised but can be heard on KBME 790 AM.
