The Astros took one on the chin yesterday, losing to Detroit 5-3. Top 100 prospect Corbin Martin started the game and took the loss, surrendering five earned runs in 3.2 innings, and bringing his Spring ERA up to 5.11. Chris Devenski, J.B. Bukauskas and Brendan McCurry finished the game for the Stros without surrendering any additional runs.
Tony Kemp was the Astros star, going 3-4 with a 2 run homer. His OPS for the Spring is now .991.
Here’s his smash.

Today Brad Peacock, probably a lock for the starting rotation at this point, seeks to continue his excellence this Spring with another warm-up start against Jason Vargas. In 12 innings thus far in ST, Peacock has surrendered only 2 runs, with 10 K’s.
