MLB: ALCS-Houston Astros at New York Yankees Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Game 5 of the ALCS between the Astros and Yankees was essentially decided in the first inning. All five runs were scored in the opening frame, with both lineups going quietly into the cool night in New York. Unfortunately for the Astros, the Yankees had four of those five runs in last night’s first inning, allowing the Bronx Bombers to push the series to a sixth game in Houston later tonight.

Both clubs are likely going with a bullpen day for Game 6, but it is relatively unknown about who’ll receive the “opening” nod. Jose Urquidy, who threw just 41 major league innings this year, is a possible candidate for the Astros. The twenty-four year old right-hander has made just one appearance in this postseason, throwing 1 23 innings against the Rays in the ALDS.

Here is the latest out of the Yankees’ camp about their plans for Game 6.

For the Astros, Game 6 will come down to two factors: The bullpen and performance with runners in scoring position. But all considering, Houston can’t complain about taking two out of three at Yankee Stadium against the Yankees, who went 57-24 at home during the regular season. In event of a Game 7 on Sunday, Gerrit Cole will be called upon as the Yankees likely turn to Luis Severino.
