The Astros are in the ALCS for the third year in a row. They have won over 100 games for the third year in a row. They won the World Series just two years ago, in large part because of their miraculous ability to come from behind. Games 2 and 5 of that series are two of the best come from behind World Series victories EVER.

And yet, in Sunday’s Game 2 ALCS, through most of which the Astros were tied, although for a few innings they were one run behind, you would think the Astros were the Orioles getting trounced by the Astros by 20 runs.

Of course we’re smart fans and realism is called for. I’m not calling for irrational optimism or homerism. But it is not realism to succumb to despair when the Houston Astros are behind by one run in a playoff game. And Carlos Correa showed us why once again.

They’re not getting to the World Series..

In fact, there’s a high probability this is the last game in Houston this year. Can’t buy a hit with RISP and no one should let that fact cloud their judgment. We’re 0-3 this postseason after getting behind.

Do I hope they do better? Of course, I love this team. Do I expect it? Not at all.
