Game Thread no. 151. Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros. Sept 19, 2018, 7:10 CDT

The Astros are closing in. The Mariners are out. Join the discussion as the Astros seek to reduce the magic number to as low as 5 with a victory tonight.

MLB: Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Astros shelled a sloppy Mariners team last night who couldn’t get real wood on Astros rookie pitcher Josh James, winning 7-0. Tonight the Mariners send their own rookie to the mound, Matt Festa, who in 5.1 innings pitched has a 1.69 ERA but a 1.69 WHIP.

The Astros counter with Dallas Keuchel, (11-10, 3.57 ERA). With an Astros win and an A’s loss tonight the Astros would only need any combination of five wins or five A’s losses in order to clinch the AL West with 10 games left to play.

Here is the Astros lineup.
