The Astros have announced that Carlos Correa will be activated from the DL today, making him available for tonight’s game. J.D. Davis was optioned to Fresno to make room on the 25-man roster.
Before going on the DL Correa had been slashing .268/.352/.480 with 13 home runs in 315 plate appearances. Correa was originally placed on the 10-day DL on June 26th and the club was optimistic that he would not be sidelined for long. That would not be the case as the stint was spread out over 6 weeks, though there was at least one memorable moment while Carlos was playing in Corpus:
During his second at-bat, @TeamCJCorrea hit a foul ball that landed in the lap of a very special guest! Nice catch, @DaniellaRdz1! #ReelFun pic.twitter.com/NWdekKTbX6

As for J.D., his third tour of duty with the Astros has been fairly unspectacular. Used primarily as a backup infielder, he would log 40 PAs with a paltry .150/.150/.200 slash line and only 6 hits with 2 doubles. He’ll have a chance to work on things back in Fresno and will probably get another bite at the apple when rosters expand next month.
