According to Brian McTaggart, the Astros have recalled Jake Marisnick from Fresno and will option Kyle Tucker back to AAA in a corresponding move.
Tucker’s first taste of the majors has been a bit of a disappointment for the Astros’ big prospect. In 45 ABs he’s slashed a meager .156/.240/.222 with only one double and one triple for extra base hits. He’ll get a chance to work on his approach back in Fresno and will most likely rejoin the team when rosters expand if not needed before then due to injury.
Meanwhile, Marisnick will rejoin the team after spending the last couple of weeks in Fresno. He’s had a predictably good run at the AAA level and will look to bring some of that back to the Astros with him. The move is also partially designed help to shore up outfield defense in the short term as Springer is now day-to-day with shoulder soreness after laying out for a ball in last night’s game.
