MLB: Houston Astros at Texas Rangers Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (51-36) won 8-1 (BOX SCORE)

Rogelio Armenteros got the start for Fresno and pitched well going 6 innings, allowing just 1 run while striking out 7. Fisher got the Grizzlies on the board with a 2 run HR in the 3rd inning. Fresno picked up another run in the 5th on a Fisher RBI single. Fresno blew it open in the 7th scoring 3 runs on a Reed RBI groundout and a Jones 2 run triple. Fresno added one 2 more insurance runs in the 8th to make it 8-1. Boshers picked up the saving throwing 3 scoreless innings to close it out.

Note: Armenteros has a 2.63 ERA with 55 K in 54.2 innings over his last 10 outings.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (54-30) won 9-4 (BOX SCORE)

Bielak started for Corpus Christ last night and pitched very well going 6.2 scoreless innings, picking up 5 strikeouts. The offense picked up 1 run in the 3rd on Cesar RBI single. The Hooks blew the game open with 8 runs in the 5th a Wrenn RBI single, Toro 3 run HR (1st in AA), Quintana 2 run double, Sierra RBI double and a run scoring on a wild pitch. Sierra allowed 4 runs in relief but Pinales closed it out with a perfect 9th.

Note: Bielak has a 1.75 ERA with 22 BB/84 K in 67.0 innings this season.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (49-36) won 11-0 (BOX SCORE)

Rodgers made another rehab start but only pitched one inning due to a rain delay. Bailey would come in after the rain delay and was very good tossing 6 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. The offense jumped out to an early lead with 6 runs in the first inning on a Dawson RBI single, De La Cruz sac fly, Adams RBI double, Bohanek RBI single, and 2 run HR from Canelon. They picked up 5 more in the 3rd on a Canelon RBI groundout, Arauz RBI single, Julks RBI double, and Matijevic 2 run double. The offense was more than enough for the pitching staff as they combined for the shutout.

Note: Duarte is hitting .415 with 3 HR, 7 RBI over his last 10 games.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (47-38) won 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

Dominating performance by the Quad Cities pitching staff. Mushinski started and struck out 9 over 4 scoreless innings. He was relieved by Solomon who allowed 1 unearned run over 4 innings while striking out 6. Taylor got the River Bandits on the board with a sac fly in the 3rd inning. Beer added an RBI groundout in the 4th inning. Sanabria relieved Solomon and struck out the side in the 9th. The pitching staff combined for 18 strikeouts.

Note: Solomon has 76 K in 64.1 innings this season.
