The Astros have placed José Altuve on the 10-day DL, his first stint on the DL in his career.
Altuve has been dealing with a right knee discomfort, which has kept him out of the lineup in recent games. Before the game all indications were that he would be making a return soon so the news was something of a shock. Altuve did not seem happy about the move in post-game comments.

The timing is particularly poor as the Astros are reeling from three losses in a row as well as uncertainty of the time frame surrounding Correa’s ongoing back issues. The move is retroactive to Thursday so José will be eligible to return for the Dodgers series next weekend on the 5th.
The Astros will announce a corresponding roster move tomorrow morning. For those who enjoy intrigue, Tyler White was a late scratch from Fresno’s game tonight so he seems a likely candidate to fill the spot.
