AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (58-43) OFF


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (63-37) lost 2-1 (BOX SCORE)

Bielak started for the Hooks and went 4.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The offense struggled last night managing just 1 run on a McCormick RBI double in the 2nd. Scheetz and Garza had scoreless outings in relief but the offense was unable to get anything else going as they lost 2-1.

Note: Scheetz has a 2.32 ERA and 69 K in 50.1 innings this season.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (57-44) lost 8-4 (BOX SCORE)

Rough outing for Valdez as he allowed 5 runs in 5 innings of work. Matijevic got the Astros on the board in the 3rd inning with a 2 run HR. Buies Creek would got to the 9th down 8-2 but got a run on another Matijevic HR and Adams RBI double. Their comeback fell short though as they dropped this one 8-4.

Note: Matijevic has 17 2B, 13 HR in 68 games this season.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (55-45) won 7-4 (BOX SCORE)

Solomon started for Quad Cities and while he picked up the win, he struggled a bit allowed 4 runs over 5 innings. He was relieved by Mushinski who tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief. The River Bandits broke the game open in the 3rd inning scoring 6 runs on a Hensley RBI single, Taylor RBI walk, Papierski RBI walk, Schreiber RBI walk, Lacroix RBI HBP and a Mattix sac fly. This was all they needed to wrap up the 7-4 win.

Note: Beer is hitting .326 with 1.001 OPS in 34 games this season.
