Join the conversation as the Houston Astros will be well represented tonight in our nation’s capital

Well, we already know that pitchers Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole will not be making an appearance in tonight’s All Star Game, but Houston will still be well represented.

2017 American League MVP Jose Altuve will bat 2nd for the American League and start the game. From what I remember, starters usually play 3-4 innings but that is always, of course, subject to change. With AJ Hinch managing the squad, I’m sure he’ll want to conserve Altuve for the regular season.

Alex Bregman will be the reserve third baseman tonight behind Cleveland Indians slugger Jose Ramirez. I’m sure we’ll see plenty of Bregman tonight, but he already put on a show last night in the Home Run Derby despite falling short.

George Springer will be a reserve outfielder tonight behind Mike Trout, Aaron Judge, and Mookie Betts. Hopefully Springer can relax out there and maybe use the fun atmosphere of the All Star Game to gain some positive momentum and turn his hitting woes around.

Charlie Morton will be available out of the bullpen for the American League tonight, but there’s no telling when he’ll enter the game. Hinch stated in his press conference that Chris Sale will start, followed by New York Yankees ace Luis Severino, and then “probably” Tampa Bay Rays young star Blake Snell. I am 90% confident that CFM will pitch at some poin tonight, but I just have no clue about when he’ll be used.

In any case, tonight should certainly be an entertaining evening of baseball and we hope you all have a great time following along with us here at The Crawfish Boxes.
