AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (54-40) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Armenteros started for Fresno last night and despite allowing 9 hits, he had a quality start allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Fresno tied the game in the 4th getting 3 runs on a Davis 2 run double and Nunez RBI single. Sacramento retook the lead getting a run in the 8th but the Grizzlies were unable to respond as they lost 4-3.

Note: Armenteros has a 2.59 ERA over his last 10 outings.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (60-33) lost 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks jumped out to an early lead scoring 2 runs in the first inning on two wild pitches. Bostick started for the Hooks but struggled a bit allowed 5 runs in 6 innings with 3 of those runs coming in the 6th inning. The Hooks picked up a run in the 8th on a Benedetti bases loaded walk but they left the bases loaded and were unable to score again as they lost 5-3.

Note: Pineda is hitting .375 in 12 AA games.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (53-42) lost 12-10 (BOX SCORE)

Wild game last night. Duarte got the Astros on the board in the first with an RBI single and Meyers added a sac fly in the 2nd to make it 2-0. A Robinson RBI single and Meyers RBI single in the 4th made it 4-0. Saldana got the start and allowed 2 runs over 4.1 innings. Buies Creek picked up 3 runs in the 7th on a Adams 2 run double and Robinson RBI single. At this point they were up 8-2 but WInston-Salem rallied for 6th in the 7th to tie. Buies Creek retook the lead in the 10th on a Matjevic 2 run single. Winston-Salem rallied again though scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the inning as they won in a walk-off.

Note: Robinson is hitting .333 over his last 10 games.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (52-42) lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Quad Cities scored first in this one getting a run in the 2nd inning on an error. Donato got the start but allowed 4 runs in 3 innings of work. The River Bandits picked up 2 runs in the 4th on a Hensley 2 run double. Paredes relieved Donato and tossed 3 scoreless innings. They took the lead in the 6th on a Taylor solo HR and a Papierski RBI single. Unfotunately Duncan couldn’t hold the lead as he gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th as Bowling Green won 6-5.

Note: Paredes has a 1.46 ERA with 71 K in 55.2 innings this season.
