AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (13-6) OFF


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (11-7) lost 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

James got the start last night and had his first rough outing of the season. He pitched just 3 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 runs. The Hooks picked up 2 runs in the first on a Benedetti RBI double and a Jones sac fly. The offense was unable to score again though as they picked up just 3 more hits the rest of the game. Stutzman and Hill were solid in relief.

Note: Straw is hitting .469 with 5 RBI, 4 SB over his last 8 games.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (13-6) won 3-0 (BOX SCORE)

More great pitching from Buies Creek. Perez made the start and allowed just 1 hit over 4.2 scoreless innings, though he did walk 4. The offense only scored in one inning but made it count getting 3 runs in the 3rd on a Toro RBI single, McCormick RBI single, and Trompiz RBI single. Bielak relieved Perez and was dominant again tossing 4.1 scoreless innings with 9 strikeouts as he picked up the win.

Note: Bielak has 5 BB/28 K in 18.1 innings this season (0.98 ERA)


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (6-10) lost 11-3 (BOX SCORE)

Another rough start for Bukauskas as he lasted just 2 innings and gave up 7 hits and 3 runs. The offense picked up 3 runs in the 8th on a De La Cruz 2 run single and Tovalin groundout but it wasn’t enough as the pitching staff allowed 16 hits and 11 runs total.

Note: De La Cruz is hitting .294 over his last 10 games.
