AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (5-3) won 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

Fresno jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a Tyler White RBI single in the first. Drew Ferguson added a 2 run double in the 5th to make it 3-0. Cy Sneed made the start and tossed five shutout innings with four strikeouts. Tucker and Reed both had RBI singles in the 7th to make it 5-0. Tacoma would make it a game somewhat scoring 3 runs in the 9th, but that is all they would get as Fresno picked up the win. Solid start to the season for Guduan who has allowed just one hit in 5.1 scoreless innings with 8 strikeouts.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (3-4) won 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Corpus Christi had their home opener last night put together a solid win. The Hooks got on the board in the 3rd inning on a bases loaded walk to Yordan Alvarez. Framber Valdez got the start and was solid allowing 2 runs in 5.1 innings with both runs scoring in the 4th. The Hooks got an RBI double from DeGoti in the bottom of the 4th to tie it up at 2. Stephen Wrenn and Taylor Jones added RBI singles in the 7th inning and Straw tacked on another insurance run in the 8th with an RBI single of his own to make it 5-2. Ralph Garza allowed just 1 hit and no runs over the finale 3.2 innings. Straw continued his hot start hitting .350 with 10 BB, 7 SB in 7 games this season.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (4-4) won 6-3 (BOX SCORE)

Buies Creek got another solid pitching performance out of a 2017 draftee last night. Brandon Bielak got the start and was very good going 5 scoreless innings with 1 BB/8 K. Buies Creek had a big first inning picking up 4 runs on a Toro-Hernandez double, Duarte single and another run scoring on an error. In the 2nd inning they would get two more on an RBI triple by Rojas, which turned into a little league homerun as he came around to score on an error. Perez gave up a couple runs in relief but the offense put up enough in the first two innings to seal it. Bielak is off to a nice start this year with 14 K in 8.1 innings.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (2-4) won 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Quad Cities completed the minor league sweep last night with a win at home. The River Bandits scored two runs in the first inning on Adams and Tovalin RBI groundouts. Arauz added a 2 run double in the second inning to make it 4-0. Patrick Sandoval got the start and had a very good outing going 5.1 scoreless innings with 0 BB/5 K. He also had 6 groundouts to just 1 flyout. Kane County picked up a couple late runs but the first two innings were all that was needed from the offense.
