The ALDS Roster and the TCB Brains who Picked It.

Chillout17 asked me to post an ALDS projected Astros roster thread. Brilliant idea, and one of our more popular “articles” in a while. We had a spirited debate, and I’ll let chillout call the winners.

If the brain power of the average TCBer resembles that of the man pictured above, this is the brain power of our three perspicacious prognosticators.

Here are their posts:

If they are going with a 14/11 positional split the position players will be easy. Predicting the bullpen will be the toughest. Here is my best guess.

C: Maldonado, McCann

Infielders: Yuli, Altuve, Correa, Bregman

OFers: Marwin, Springer, Reddick, Marisnick, Kemp, Straw

DH/Utility: Gattis, White

SP: JV, Cole, Keuchel, Morton

Bullpen: Osuna, Pressly, McHugh, Sipp, McCullers, James, Harris

The last bullpen spot will come down to Rondon and Harris. I am hoping/predicting they decide to go with Harris.

Bench: Marisnick, Kemp, Gattis, Straw

SP: Verlander, Cole, Keuchel, Morton

RP: Osuna, Pressly, McHugh, Sipp, Harris, McCullers, James

What I think the Astros will do:

RP: Osuna, Pressly, Rondon, Sipp, Smith, McCullers, James

The most common mistake that kept the number of winners down was picking Hector Rondon over Will Harris. Jeff Luhnow and A. J. Hinch must have read Hebrew Hammah’s article, calling for Harris to be on the roster, or maybe they read Willie’s comment telling them what they SHOULD do, if only they had enough brains.

Well gentlemen, or ladies, or however you choose to identify yourselves, you must be asking: “What did I win?”

That’s what Astrosfan1 asked, and this was the response from his friends and fellow fans here at the Crawfish Boxes.

I don’t want to brag, but I will.
