The Houston Astros offense has been red hot. Red hot probably doesn’t quantify how good the Astros have been over the past four games. The Astros offense has been something closer to the temperature of the sun’s surface.
The Astros swept the Rangers and won the series opener against the Red Sox, scoring 49 runs over the four games. Houston outscored their opponents by 40 runs during that run.
Then the Elias Sports Bureau dropped this nugget:
Astros are first team to win 4 straight games all by 9+ runs since the Detroit Wolverines in the National League in 1887 (via @EliasSports). pic.twitter.com/VzIsUp2e0U

0The Astros are the first team to win by nine-plus runs in four straight games since the DETROIT WOLVERINES....WHAT?....since 1887....1....8....8...7. There were only 38 states in America in 1887. AM radio broadcast didn’t start until the early 1900’s.
And if you’re asking who the hell are the Detriot Wolverines? The Wolverines played in Detroit from 1881 to 1888 and won a National League and World Series Title in 1887. The team was disbanded in 1888. That’s it. Crazy.
