Things appeared lined up for the Astros to complete the sweep of the White Sox. Dallas Keuchel on the mound. White Sox starter Carson Fulmer struggled with an injury in the first inning.

But baseball is a funny sport. The Astros couldn’t break through against the White Sox bullpen for 8 23 innings and Keuchel needed 97 pitches to get through six innings — walking home a run and giving up a second on a double play.

The top of the Astros lineup struggled on Thursday. The first five batters went 0-for-17 including three walks.

Francis Martes gave up a solo home run in the seventh inning to Tim Anderson.

The Astros best chance for the offense came against former Astros farmhand Juan Minaya. Minaya walked Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman to put the tying runs on. But Minaya was able to end the game with a Carlos Beltran groundout.
