The Astros have 12 games left in 2017, and the Indians had 11 entering Wednesday. Houston only trailed Cleveland by 1.5 games for the best record in the American League.

The Indians have continued to win, but so have the Astros. The Astros won 4-3 over the White Sox at Minute Maid Park.

The Astros got another strong outing from Brad Peacock, who allowed two earned runs on one hit over six innings. He struck out six and walked two.

Yuli Gurriel went 3-for-4 and drove two runs.

Evan Gattis put the Astros up 1-0 in the second inning with single that scored Carlos Correa from second.

Gurriel put Houston back in front in the fourth after Yoan Moncada had hit a two-run home run. Gurriel smacked a looping line drive into the right-field gap.

Josh Reddick tripled in the seventh and scored on a Jose Altuve single. Altuve rocketed a single off Tim Anderson that allowed Reddick to score.

Luke Gregerson had an insult to a minor injury. Anderson smacked a line drive that hit Gregerson in the palm to open the eighth and he scored on Yolmer Sanchez double.

But Joe Musgrove was able to close the door for his seventh save.
