The Houston Astros have been the talk of the baseball world for the past few days with the trade for Justin Verlander. But the Astros still had work to do to put Verlander on the 40-man roster after trading three prospects and using the final roster spot on Cameron Maybin.

The Astros have cleared a space for Verlander by moving RHP Brady Rodgers from the minor league disabled list to the major league 60-Day DL. Rodgers had Tommy John surgery in May.

The team also called up LHP Reymin Guduan, infielder Tony Kemp, and first baseman Tyler White.

Guduan, 25, is 0-0 with 5.54 ERA in 17 games with the Astros. He was the early answer when Tony Sipp wasn't effective, but couldn't find any constancy.

Kemp, 25, is batting .329 (166x504) with 23 doubles, 10 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases in 118 games with Triple-A Fresno.

White, 26, batted .300 (131x346) with 22 doubles and 25 home runs, and 89 RBIs in 111 games with Triple-Fresno.

The team also activated LHP Tony Sipp. Sipp, 34, has been dealing with right calf soreness. He had a few rehab appearances with Double-A Corpus Christi and Triple-A Fresno before rejoining the team Saturday.

Sipp is 0-1 with a 6.47 ERA in 38 games with the Astros in 2017.

In other news, Verlander will wear his traditional number, 35. Francisco Liriano will wear 46 and Cameron Maybin will wear No. 3.
