Preview

The 2017 American League West Division Championship awaits the Houston Astros on Sunday. A win and the Astros take the crown.

The Astros could win a division title for the first time since 2001 (NL Central). Houston has previously won six division titles: the NL West in 1980 and 1986 and the NL Central in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2001.

The Astros couldn't have asked for a better starter to clinch on Sunday. Justin Verlander makes his home debut with the Astros.

Verlander is 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA in two starts with the Astros. He has allowed just seven hits over 14 innings while striking out 16 and walking two.

Verlander is 11-8 with a 3.09 in 23 career starts against the Mariners. He is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA in three starts in 2017.

Verlander is 2-0 with a 3.65 ERA in six career starts at Minute Maid Park.

Kyle Seager had seen Verlander well in his career. He is batting .364 with three home runs in 22 at-bats. Robinson is batting .283 in 53 career at-bats against Verlander with five extra-base hits.

Oregon State product Andrew Moore goes for the Mariners. The Mariners' have won only two of his last 10 outings.

Moore allowed two earned runs on three hits over six innings on Sept. 9 against the Astros. Alex Bregman and Marwin Gonzalez each had a double off Moore in the game.
