Mike Fiers at times this season has looked like one of the Astros’ best pitchers. At other times, Fiers has looked like the worse. Wednesday's game fell into the latter category.

Fiers gave up six runs in the first inning en route to an Astros’ 9-1 loss.

The first five hits that Fiers gave up were extra-base hits, four doubles, and a home run. The home run was from former Astro Luis Valbuena that put the Halos up 6-0 in the first.

Fiers would give up eight runs before being pulled with two outs in the fourth inning.

The Astros had only two chances in the game with runners in scoring position. In the first inning, after two singles from Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa with two outs — nothing came of it. And in the eighth inning, Tyler White doubled to lead off the eighth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly.

Outside of that, the Tyler Skaggs kept the Astros in check over seven innings.
