The rollercoaster of a trade between the Astros and Tigers is now complete. Justin Verlander is an Astro. Now the only question is what did it cost.
Astros general manager confirmed on Friday night that the Astros received the Verlander for three prospects: RHP Franklin Perez, outfielder Daz Cameron, and catcher Jake Rogers. But the Astros also receive a player named to be later and cash considerations.
Good evening!

The #Astros have acquired RHP Justin Verlander and a PTBNL or cash from the Tigers.

Perez (No. 3), Cameron (No. 9), and Jake Rogers (No. 11) are all in the top 15 on MLB.com's Top 30 Astros prospects list. A steep price to pay for the Astros, but the prospect cost is balanced out by the money paid by the Tigers to reduce the Verlander contract.
The Tigers are paying $8 million each year to drop the cost to $20 million per year through 2019.

But again the Astros retain Francis Martes, Kyle Tucker, Forrest Whitley, Derek Fisher, David Paulino etc. The trade could have been worse. Right?
