Houston Astros catcher Max Stassi was on the 25-man roster with no more options. In order for Stassi to return to Triple-A Fresno, he would have clear waivers.
Conventionally (wink) for the Astros, Stassi had an injury that required him to be put on the 10-day disabled list on Friday and allow catcher/DH Evan Gattis to return to the major league roster.
The Astros announced the move to put Stassi on the DL with left-hand inflammation and activate Gattis from the 7-Day concussion DL.
The Astros have activated C Evan Gattis from the 7-day concussion DL.

C Max Stassi placed on the 10-day DL with left hand inflammation.
Gattis, 31, is batting .278 (67x241) with 11 home runs and 45 RBIs in 68 games. Gattis suffered the concussion during the Astros' series against the Rays. Corey Dickerson's backswing caught Gattis in the mask in the eighth inning of the 5-3 loss against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Now word yet on the source of the Stassi' injury other than a good reason to keep him on the roster without waivers.
