Astros shuffle deck in front office; Goldstein, Ocampo promoted

Astros revamped the scouting department earlier this month, now it's the front office's turn.

On the day that a hurricane was making landfall on the Texas coast. MLB.com beat writer Brian McTaggart continued to put in work. McTaggart broke the news that the team has changed titles and promoted a handful of key people in the team front office.

The highest member assistant GM Mike Elias has taken over duties for international scouting along with retaining amateur draft duties. Kevin Goldstein and Oz Ocampo have been promoted to special assistant to the general manager. The team has parted ways with Quinton McCracken.

McTaggart also noted that the team has promoted Brendan Fournie to manager of baseball operations. Armando Velasco to director Minor League operations. Eve Rosenbaum to manager of international scouting

Astros creating two analysis groups, an amateur scouting by Charles Cook, and pro scouting led by Matt Hogan.
