The Houston Astros were 5-4 on their most recent road trip and looks like less like a juggernaut and more like a first round exit.
But all the Astros needed was a trip home to Minute Maid Park. The Astros worked over the Rays on Monday night to the tune of a 14-7 victory.
The Astros had three home runs in the game including two from Jake Marnsick and back-to-back jacks from Marnisck and Derek Fisher.
Marisnick and Fisher also each had a double, and Houston had six total doubles in the game. Fisher was 3-for-5 in the leadoff spot and Marisnick was 4-for-4 with 10 total bases in the 9-hole.
Charlie Morton was strong over six innings. He allowed two earned runs on two hits, striking out five and walking three.
Ho-hum, another Astros blowout.
RHP Mike Fiers (7-5, 3.71 ERA) faces RHP Chris Archer (7-6, 3.80 ERA) in game two of the four-game series.
