Marwin Gonzalez got a two-out RBI to put the Astros up 7-4.
The Astros had the bases loaded at the end of the seventh, but Chris Devenski struck out.
Doubles from Josh Reddick and Gonzalez doubled in three more runs in the eighth inning.
Devenski, Will Harris, and Tony Sipp combined to pitch scoreless 3 1⁄3 innings to end the game.
