Phillies 9, Astros 0: Welp

Aaron Nola is good.

MLB: Houston Astros at Philadelphia Phillies Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Fiers needed 102 pitches to get through four innings. Michael Feliz had the Philadelphia Phillies hit a cycle against him in one inning. And Aaron Nola struck out 10 batters over six innings.

With those facts, the outcome of Wednesday game at Citizens Bank Park was in little doubt. The Astros dropped the game 9-0.

The Astros missed a clean run through interleague play and now hold a 9-1 record against the National League.

Jose Altuve continued to do Jose Altuve things, he went 2-for-4 with a double. Tyler White and Carlos Beltran were both 2-for-4. The Astros were 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

There isn’t much more to say.

Fiez fell apart giving up six runs on eight hits over two innings.

The Astros have a glimmer of hope with Dallas Keuchel returning on Friday. And oh yeah...the Astros lead the AL West by double digits. It’s just one game.
