Harris, 32, has been dealing with right-shoulder inflammation and hasn't pitched since July 5. The problem didn't lessen during the All-Star Break and the team went forward with putting Harris on the DL.
Harris is 2-2 with a 2.86 ERA in 34 games this season. He has allowed 11 earned runs on 28 hits and five walks, he struck out 39, picked up 17 holds and two saves.
Harris has been on of the Astros most consistent relievers since being selected off waivers in 2014 from the Diamondbacks. Harris was a 2016 All-Star for the Astros.
The Astros are expected to recall one the many relievers that have been pinballing back and forth between the majors and Triple-A this season with the numerous injuries to the Astros rotation: RHP Dayan Diaz. RHP Jordan Jankowski, LHP Reymin Guduan and LHP Ashur Tolliver
