The streak is over, but the Astros have the ideal starter on the mound to start a new with Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel has a streak of his own, starting the season with a 9-0 record through 11 starts.

Keuchel faced the Royals for the second time in 2017, he allowed one run on two hits over 7.0 innings on April 8. Keuchel is 3-1 with a 3.32 ERA in six career starts against the Royals. He was 1-0 with 4.26 ERA in one start against the Royals in 2016.

Lorenzo Cain has had success against Keuchel, is batting .294 (5x17) with two double and a home run. Brandon Moss is 6-for-18 but had five strikeouts. Kuechel has dominated Salvador Perez (.111), Alex Gordon (.100), and Mike Moustakas (0-for-4).

Of the two pitchers, Jason Vargas is the surprise at the top of the ERA standings with Keuchel. Vargas is 3-1 with a 1.40 ERA in four starts in April and took a slight step back in May with a 3-2 record with a 3.12 ERA in six starts. He is 4-1 with a 1.59 ERA in six starts at home.

Vargas is 1-2 with a 6.84 ERA in five career starts against the Astros, he's had only one start against Houston since 2013. He allowed one earned run over six innings on April 7. Jose Altuve (.417) and Carlos Beltran (.500 in 12 ABs) have had success against Vargas. Josh Reddick has batted .226 (7-for-31) with a double and a home run.
